CPCB Common EPR Portal SSO Registration Procedure
Introduction
The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has launched the Common EPR Portal to simplify Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) compliance management in India. This Centralized digital portal combines multiple waste management portals which including Plastic Waste, E-Waste, Battery Waste, Tyre Waste and Used Oil, through a Single Sign-On (SSO) system etc.
Previously, Producers, Importers and Brand Owners (PIBOs), as well as Recyclers, had to maintain fragmented, separate portal credentials to manage different waste streams.
The newly launched centralised dashboard bridges these silos into a single ecosystem. It allows entities to use a single digital identity to track multiple waste streams and execute seamless environmental credit trades. This reform acts as a master gateway, radically improving traceability and ending fragmented data management across overlapping environmental liabilities.
Process to Link to the EPR Portal
Step-by-Step Migration and Integration Procedure
Procedure
-
Initialise the Master SSO Account
- Navigate to the newly launched, unified CPCB Common EPR Portal.
- Click on Sign Up/New Registration to begin creating the master administrative profile.
- Provide a dedicated corporate email ID and the mobile number of the company’s authorized compliance head. Use an official corporate email ID linked with the authorised compliance representative for account creation.
- Complete the real-time OTP validation sent to both channels to receive the new global CEPR login credentials.
-
One-Time Legacy Account Linking
- Log into the central portal using the new master SSO details at https://epr.cpcb.gov.in/login
- Locate the Link Existing Portals dashboard feature.
- Select the legacy waste stream portals where the company holds active registrations (e.g., Plastic Packaging, Battery Waste).
- Input older portal credentials or use the designated Forget Password feature if you encounter system-handshake issues during migration.
- Confirm the link; once mapped, the action icon shifts from Link to Open, pulling all old licenses into your central space.
-
Corporate Identity and GSTN Mapping
- Navigate to the general information module to review auto-populated values.
- Input the primary company PAN Card and GSTIN numbers.
- Initiate the API-level validation check to match corporate legal names against GSTN-linked records.
- Upload supporting documents in PDF or image formatting, including the authorized signatory’s corporate board resolution and Corporate Identification Number (CIN) paperwork.
-
Activating ETP Access and Credit Sync
- Once company profiling is verified, click the Activate ETP Access panel.
- The system initialises your ledger on the EPR Transaction Portal (ETP).
- Verify that the previously acquired credits or liabilities reflect properly within the fresh, transparent ledger view.
-
Recycler Re-mapping and Final Attestation
- Go to the vendor mapping sub-module.
- Re-link the active authorised Recyclers or Refurbishers to the master account profile.
- Review the integrated dashboard to ensure all open compliance streams show a valid mapping status.
- Digitally attest the unified profile information using a valid corporate Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) to activate the single-login interface.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQS)
The Common EPR Portal is a single platform created by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) to manage all Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) activities in one place. Earlier, separate portals existed for different waste categories like Plastic, E-Waste, Battery, Tyre, and Used Oil, which made things complicated. The Common EPR Portal brings them together so you can:
- Register once and use one login for all portals.
- Link your existing accounts easily.
- Access everything from one dashboard without multiple usernames and passwords.
SSO (Single Sign-On) means you can log in once and access all EPR portals without remembering multiple usernames and passwords. It makes your experience easier and more secure.
You can use one login for:
- Plastic Waste Management
- E-Waste Management
- Battery Waste Management
- Tyre Waste Management
- Used Oil Management
- EPR Trading Platform
Log in to the Common EPR Portal.
- Click “Link Existing EPR Account”
- Select the portal you want to link and log in with your old credentials.
- If your details match, the account will be linked. If not, you’ll see an error message.
- Please note that before linking you need to have a active profile on existing EPR portals
Previously, a company handling both electronics and packaging had to manage separate portal workflows, logins, and documentation records. The new SSO functions as a single dashboard hub: you log in once at epr.cpcb.gov.in to toggle between plastic, e-waste, tyres, batteries, and used oil filings under one unified corporate identity.
Yes. Moving to the unified SSO is mandatory for all existing PIBOs and recyclers. Access to individual operational sections and submission modules is progressively blocked until your master CEPR ID is generated.
This happens if the Legacy Portal Linking step was skipped or if there is a data mismatch between your old profile and your new corporate GSTN data. Ensure you run the automated authentication link step for each waste stream to import your data ledger into the transaction module.
The EPR Transaction Portal (ETP) is CPCB’s centralized electronic marketplace for trading. Rather than handling credit exchange off-platform, all certificate generations, transfers, and final liabilities settlements happen inside this dashboard.
